Touchpads very rarely go wrong and/or are not recognised by windows as and if they are not then its either a driver problem (which is very rare) and needs uninstalling and reinstalling through Device Manager or the touchpad is broken and needs replacing. I'm having troubles with my Acer Aspire E14's precision touchpad. I don't know what's happening here. It works for some time but then there comes a moment when it becomes sticky. Once uninstalled, restart the computer. The driver will be replaced with a default driver that Windows has saved. Alternatively, repeat the same steps by uninstalling the driver, but do NOT restart.
